Talk about a time when you had to write a poem, whether it was for an assignment, event, or special occasion. What was the writing process like for you, and were you proud of the finished product?

 Prompt: One time I had to write a poem was for a 7th grade ELA assignment. We had to write a Shakespearean poem with two quarters and a couplet. It was difficult think of a theme for it but I decided on a sports theme. Rhyming was kinda fun and writing with my friends and bouncing ideas off of each other was entertaining. We also had to create a themed background for the poem. 

Summary:  Today in class we analyzed a poem. 

Reflection: What we did today will be valuable on the ap exam to learn how to analyze text. By learning to quickly analyze text I can move quickly through the parts of the exam.

 Prompt: One thing I’ve always been curious about is life after death. My background is Christian, leading me to believe that there is a heaven and a hell and one’s decisions during their life determine where they will be after passing. However, the science says otherwise. Biology and neuroscience show that there is no life after death. They state that once you stop breathing and your heart and brain stops there is just void. Describe a time you felt lost

 Prompt: I time I felt lost was when I moved away from my old house. That house was everything I'd ever known, from the carpeted upstairs level to the kitchen table i'd cut my nose on. Losing that feeling of home felt like nothing i'd ever felt before. But, with a little time, and support from my family, I quickly adjusted to my new lifestyle, neighborhood, and school. Without them, I would've felt lost for a much longer time. Summary: Today in class we talked about claims of fact, policy, and value and how to identify these claims from a text Reflection: Identifying claims is important to understand how arguments work. This is valuable information to note when writing my own arguments and deciphering other claims.

  Think about the word or phrase you find yourself using the most right now. What is it, what does it mean, and why has it become part of your everyday vocabulary? Explain when you typically use it and what your choice of this word or phrase might reveal about you. Prompt: The word that I use the most right now is most likely "Brother". The dictionary definition of the word brother is a male sibling sharing on or both parents as the person. However, it could also mean a person that you have a close relation with. I find myself using it a lot as a term to address my close friends, as well as an exclamation in reaction to an array of statements. I'm not quite sure what this would reveal about me but I do like what my use of the term shows about my relationship with my close friends.
